I would love more in this world, if not necessarily on Alder Island or related to the Hawthornes. What other monsters do Chris and Harvey find? What is the response to Jai's work like and what might happen to some of his fans who poke a little too deeply into the inspiration? What does the aftermath look like for them and in what ways do and don't they stay connected?
I ship Jai/Chris/Robin, so if you wanted to do a slightly cannon divergent story in which they share the night before the final confrontation and how Jai and Chris negotiate any lingering relationship afterwards—potentially through an epistolary format—I would be absolutely delighted.
Fandom-Specific DNWs: Canon-divergence other than as described in my request
I have not watched the entirety of Season 3 and did not care for the first few episodes that I did watch.
If possible, I would love a continuation from the end of Season 2 that goes in a different direction/has different pacing, with a focus on the convergence of the various groups with an interest in the Sword of Fighting: Glorion, Karn, the Wicked Kings, etc. and how Perf and Carrow confront these threats with their newfound powers as Retromancer and Death Priest. How does Nara adjust to the loss of what she believed was her destiny?
Alternatively, I would equally love something prequel-y, focusing on how the history and dynamics between Karn and The Wicked Kings, possibly with the framing narrative of a bard from the Bardic College telling the tale?
Fandom-specific DNWs: Shipping any of the main band with each other (Nara, Perf, Glorion, Carrow), Transness treated as a joke, Anti-LGBTQ+ views expressed by protagonists, References to Season 3
Sunshine - Robin McKinley
I’m really interested in the origin/effects of bad spots. I would love to see a story about how they came to be, or how SOF developed their countermeasures for them (presumably this included some initial prototypes that didn’t work as well). Or maybe an experience Mel had with them during the wars? I'm generally interested in Mel and his gang and what they were up to during the wars, and in what ways they might still be active.
Additionally or alternatively, I would love a story centered around the physical expressions of magic in Sunshine’s world: charms, wards, tattoos, etc. We get a mention of several sigils on the cuff that keeps Constantine captive, as well as Sunshine's silver charm, and some of the designs for tattoos or what Mel paints on bikes. I’d love to know more about these. I’m also very intrigued by the idea of charms and tattoos becoming corrupted.
Fandom-specific DNWs: Romance-focused fics: I am fine with background Mel/Sunshine, or Mel/Sunshine/Con (with or without Mel/Con), but I am generally more interested in worldbuilding and the family/friend dynamics than in relationship drama
